Keeping Money Simple
When it comes to money, I try to keep things simple. I don't like budgeting apps or spreadsheets, just a system I can actually stick to.
Here’s how I handle every dollar that comes in from all of my work:
- 30% goes to taxes account.
- 20% goes to savings account.
- 10% goes to retirement accounts.
- 40% is what I live on.
It’s not the perfect system and the percentages aren’t sacred. People have different ways of managing their money, and plenty would debate these numbers.
But the point isn’t getting it perfect. It’s having a structure that moves money to the right places automatically so I can always make some progress.
For me, simple systems are the ones that last.
